3 weeks, Let the Games Begin!

As their steps become more steady and their waking hours longer, this week has seen the start of play time!  As their play times increase, we can start to see personalities start to emerge. But puppies on the move also means that taking pictures of them is much more difficult!  Here's a few from this week:

2 weeks, eyes open and taking steps!

Big milestones this week! Their eyes have opened and they've moved from army crawls to very wobbly steps.  They still sleep most of the day, and their healthy nursing is evident in how much they've grown this week!  They are sleeping for longer stretches at night now, so Lily is able to sleep on her bed outside of the whelping box and go in a few times throughout the night to nurse them. They are very snuggly, and love to nestle their head in the bend of our arm when they fall asleep on us --we love it too!

A peek at their eyes

This guy is more interested in lounging on Mom than nursing!

The preferred sleeping position: as close together as possible :-)

Most photos are sleeping ones, since that's the majority of their day!

1 Week Already

The first week has flown by! Lily is recovering very well and has started taking longer breaks from the puppies to walk around the yard, get a back scratch, and take some power naps.

The puppies' list of activities this week was: sleep, eat. They've been doing both those things so well that they have doubled in size!

Their faces have been changing too, but we'll still be waiting about another week until their eyes open.

They’re HERE!!

A big congrats to Lily as she gave birth to 8 puppies on September 30th!

She had 4 black males, 2 chocolate males and 2 chocolate females. Momma and all eight are doing great, sleeping lots, nursing well and already growing fast!

This little guy already found his favorite spot for snuggles!

Full bellies mean sound sleeping

With a birth weight near a pound, these puppies have lots of growing ahead!

Entering the final week all together!

7 weeks seems to have arrived especially quickly this time! With pick ups beginning next week, we’re enjoying every minute of playtime and s...
